Three people take their lives every day in Quebec since 2006. Three people. Every day. It's still far too many.
Beyond the statistics, there are thousands of people who suffer and need help to find inner peace. Millions of families, friends, and colleagues also have to dig deep within themselves to keep moving forward despite the immense void.
When the father of my precious friend committed the irreparable, I put a face to the suicide statistics. The numbers then took on a whole new dimension. I thought about all those people also affected by the loss of a loved one. And that's when I decided to talk about it through what I do best: jewelry.
It all started in 2016 with the creation of an exclusive piece of jewelry that my team and I made for World Suicide Prevention Day. The spontaneous, sincere, and poignant response was unanimous: we had to repeat the experience for the following year and beyond.
That’s what inspires us to create an exclusive Milie Bijoux piece every year with a message of hope. It’s our way of bringing, humbly, a little bit of light to people going through difficult times.
Whether to show someone how much you care or to keep the memory of a loved one who has left, say it with a piece of jewelry.

Some even shared that it felt like watching a hockey game, so exciting was the progress of the sale!
Thanks to you, Milie Bijoux is leading a unique sale that is being talked about on WKND 91.9, in Le Journal de Québec, and on Première heure with Claude Bernatchez. To think that this major event started from a small but good intention: to help, in my own way, a dear friend by creating a bracelet for the cause (a bracelet I thought I would sell 20 copies of)!

Imagined and launched in just a few days, the ESPOIR bracelet has helped many people navigate through life's storms.

In 24 hours, 160 bracelets found their owners, and $1,600 was donated to the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide.
2017
Symbolizing the importance of staying grounded, the RACINE necklace and LUMIÈRE bracelet resonated with many of us.

2018

Soft and inspiring, the MA CLÉ bracelet and HOPE necklace have captured the imagination by showing that it’s always possible to overcome any problem, no matter what. Sometimes, the key is not far away...

In 24 hours, a total of 722 pieces of jewelry were sold, allowing us to donate $7,220 to the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide.
2020
When life becomes heavy and unbearable, the PLUME necklace and LÉGÈRETÉ bracelet bring peace and comfort to help make the heart a little lighter.

In 24 hours, 1,010 pieces of jewelry were ordered, and we had the great honor of donating $10,100 to the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide.
2021
Reminding us that "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem," the PAPILLON bracelet and RENOUVEAU necklace bring a glimmer of hope.

New record: 1,213 pieces of jewelry were sold in 24 hours, raising a total of $12,130 for the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide.
2022
Highlighting the importance of opening up to others, even when words fail us, the Persévérance necklace, Cœur léger bracelet, and Bienveillance earrings featured a silver stainless steel heart charm.

We are proud to say that we sold 10 times more jewelry than at our first edition in 2016, totaling 1,702 pieces, which allowed us to make a donation of $17,020!
2023
Featuring a lovely daisy charm, the Fleurir necklace, Marguerite bracelet, and Nova earrings remind us that even though winter may damage it, the flower will regain its strength in summer.

With 1,400 pieces sold, we made a donation of $14,000 to the Association québécoise de prévention du suicide.
2024
Le collier Unité, le bracelet Infini et les boucles d’oreilles Connexion, ornés d'une breloque représentant le signe de l'infini, nous rappellent que même si la vie est parsemée de hauts et de bas, chaque obstacle est surmontable. Il ne faut donc pas hésiter à parler et à demander de l’aide pour traverser les périodes plus difficiles, afin de trouver des solutions pour relever les défis.
